Nina Stanisavljević and Uroš Živanović finish their European sprints

Nina Stanisavljević and Uroš Živanović completed their individual sprint events at the European Swimming Championships in Paris. Neither Serbian swimmer reached the semifinal round. Their official times placed them outside the sixteen available positions.

Stanisavljević finished the women's 50-metre freestyle in 25.91 seconds. Živanović recorded 27.38 seconds in the men's 50-metre breaststroke. Both results remained valid and carried no disqualification.

Stanisavljević finished thirty-seventh overall

Stanisavljević entered the shortest freestyle event on the programme. She completed one pool length in 25.91 seconds. The time placed her thirty-seventh after every qualifying heat was included.

The leading sixteen swimmers advanced into the semifinal. Stanisavljević remained outside that group and received no later swim in the event. Her recorded result therefore came from the qualification round.

Živanović placed twenty-third in breaststroke

Živanović competed over 50 metres using breaststroke. He reached the finish in 27.38 seconds and placed twenty-third overall. That position was seven places below the semifinal line.

Breaststroke rules require a legal start and a simultaneous wall touch. Živanović completed the race without a penalty. His European appearance in this event ended after the heat.

Sixteen swimmers advanced from each event

The qualification stage used the combined ranking from all scheduled heats. Lane position alone did not decide advancement. Times from separate races were placed on one overall list. The fastest sixteen eligible swimmers continued to the evening programme. Stanisavljević and Živanović remained outside that qualifying limit in their separate events.

Freestyle and breaststroke use different techniques.

Freestyle swimmers begin with an underwater phase before starting their strokes. The 50-metre distance contains one pool length. Stanisavljević completed the race without a turn. Both swimmers have represented Serbia at international competitions before Paris. Stanisavljević has raced in freestyle events, while Živanović specialises in breaststroke.
